Meteor Systems and Hort Americas join forces

Joining forces to supply the North American market with HDPE floating rafts is a further step toward a waste-free future for the greenhouse industry. As Meteor Systems' new distribution partner, Hort Americas will play a key role in introducing these rafts to North America and educating the market about the latest water cultivation techniques.

Bas Dirven, inventor and head of the water culture growing department, highlights the benefits of this collaboration: "Our goals align well with those of Hort Americas to improve the sustainability and efficiency of horticultural practices. Compared to traditional EPS, HDPE rafts allow for higher yields per m2 with less water and energy due to their shape. HDPE rafts have better insulation properties, cleaning capability for fewer chances of yield loss, and last significantly longer. Being fully automated, they are an ideal product for modern, smart agricultural environments."

This collaboration enables North American growers to switch to a more sustainable, cost-effective solution that supports higher yields and reduces the risk of yield loss and environmental impact.

Meteor Systems continues to focus on innovation in water culture systems. The latest roll container system combines deep-water culture (DWC), Nutrient Film Technique (NFT), and ebb and flow systems, providing plants with direct access to oxygen and nutrients for faster and healthier growth.
